Shine A Light: Big $$$ Plans For Sugar
The Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) needs about $150 million to revive its operations and increase production, says Minister for Sugar and Multiethnic Affairs, Charan Jeet Singh.

The Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) needs about $150 million to revive its operations and increase production, says Minister for Sugar and Multiethnic Affairs, Charan Jeath Singh.
Mr Singh has big plans for Fiji’s four main sugar mills to rejuvenate the industry.
These plans include the production of ethanol, white sugar, and cogeneration.
Related stories
In recent years, the industry has been dependent on the Government to sustain its operations.
The Government has been pumping about $60 million to $80 million annually to keep the industry afloat.
