Kumari Supports Children By Selling Hand Made Crafts
Ms Kumari encouraged women to put their skills to use and take advantage of craft shows and other platforms organised by the Ministry of Women to start their own small businesses.

Ram Kumari, 61, has earned her livelihood and supported her three children by making and selling pillow cases, bed covers and door mats.
She was among the women displaying their products during the two day Central Division Craft Show which concluded in Suva yesterday.
“I really want to thank the Government for setting up such platforms,” she said.

“Most of my products had sold out on the first day.”
She lives with her family at the Nakasi HART residence.
“My children are grown up now but when my husband passed away in 1984, I had depended on making and selling these pillow cases and doormats to earn my family a livelihood,” she said.

120 women from the Central Division have been selected to showcase their products at the National Women’s Expo this year.
