The Lau Education Charitable Trust (LECT) is committed to ensuring that every child from Early Childhood Education (ECE) to Year 13 in the Lau Group access adequate lighting for studying.
This initiative enables students to study whenever they wish. There are 45 Early Childhood Education centres, 65 primary schools, and five high schools in Lau.
LECT operates under its parent organisation, Vuli ko Lau Education Fund (Ltd), established in April, 2021.

LECT chair Ana Masikete Domoni expressed gratitude to overseas Lauans who have contributed to buying equipment and furniture for the children.
“As part of our project, we have installed solar panels at Moce Secondary School and provided solar lights to every student for their nightly studies. No student should struggle to study at night,” Ms Domoni said.
“We thank Government for its assistance in transporting necessary items to the Lau islands free of charge, considering the high cost involved in shipping chairs and other essentials.”
Ms Domoni extended her gratitude to the youths of Lau for their role in distributing equipment and furniture.

LECT is governed by a diverse board of directors comprising Lauans from various professions worldwide, all dedicated to enhancing access to quality education for the children of Fiji’s remote Lau province.
At its core, LECT’s vision and mission call upon the people and friends of Lau to unite and collaborate in advancing education for the children of the Lau Group.
