Lynda Tabuya will remain as Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection.

That’s the latest stance from Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka while addressing the media outside Parliament yesterday.

“We had a deliberation on the allegations that were made officially, a complaint was lodged, everything else were allegations,” Mr Rabuka said.

“The court does not work on allegations, they work on the evidence that is handed to court.”

Mr Rabuka said he would not rely on the deliberation of the People’s Alliance party’s disciplinary committee.

Centre to this, Ms Tabuya has been avoiding the normal route she often takes while in Parliament.

She has not been coming out of Parliament for breaks or to meet journalists.

Leader of Opposition Inia Seruiratu has expressed the Opposition’s concern in this regard.

“We have stated it very clearly in Parliament on the issue of accountability and the issue of transparency,” Mr Seruiratu said.

“It is on the shoulder of the Prime Minister to make that tough decision if there is a need to do so.”
