Farmers in Makolei, Solevu, Bua, are expected to benefit from improved access to markets and essential services following the completion of a $96,000, three-kilometre farm road.
Funded through the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and Disaster Management's Rural Outer Island Development Programme, the road was commissioned by Minister Mosese Bulitavu.
The project serves 52 households, directly benefiting 219 people.

Mr Bulitavu said the road would reduce travel time, lower transport costs and make it easier for farmers to move produce to market.
"This road is an investment in our people, especially our farmers who support Fiji's agricultural sector," he said.
Mr Bulitavu said improved access would help farmers increase production, boost household incomes and reduce post-harvest losses, particularly for perishable crops.
The road also strengthens links between communities and improves access to essential services, including health and education.
Solevu district representative Rafaele Tuilevuka said the road had already begun making a difference for local farmers.
"Farmers can now transport crops more safely, quickly and at a lower cost," Mr Tuilevuka said.
He said poor road conditions had previously caused delays and increased transport costs, particularly during periods of bad weather.
"With easier access, farmers can move seedlings, fertilisers and equipment more efficiently. This will encourage greater production and improve household incomes," he said.
Mr Tuilevuka said the community expected long-term benefits as more land was brought into production and farming activities expanded.
