Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka led a full Government delegation in presenting the traditional i-reguregu for the late former President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, marking a significant national tribute at the Coronation Grounds, State House.
The ceremony brought together Cabinet ministers, senior officials, members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of various organisations, reflecting the scale of national recognition for a leader widely regarded as one of Fiji’s most distinguished statesmen.
In his address, Mr Rabuka described Ratu Epeli as a leader who served Fiji with “integrity, humility and unwavering commitment”, acknowledging decades of service across key national roles — from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces to Speaker of Parliament, and later as President.

The i-reguregu forms part of a series of traditional and state-led ceremonies honouring the late leader, underscoring the deep cultural and political significance of his passing.
Funeral proceedings will continue throughout the week at State House, culminating in a State Funeral on Friday, before his final interment at Bau Island.
Members of the public are invited to pay their respects during scheduled visitation periods, as the nation collectively mourns a figure whose legacy continues to shape Fiji’s leadership and identity.
