Demand for faster and more reliable home internet is rising as more people work and study from home, with Telecom Fiji offering free fibre installation to eligible households.

The company says customers in fibre-ready areas can save $258.03 on standard installation costs under the promotion.

The shift towards remote work and online learning — driven in part by global disruptions such as the Middle East crisis — has increased reliance on stable internet connections for daily activities.

Telecom Fiji says older broadband connections are struggling to meet growing demand for virtual meetings, online classes, streaming and gaming.

Fibre-to-the-home technology delivers high-speed internet directly to households, allowing multiple devices to operate simultaneously without disruptions.

The company says this results in smoother video calls, faster downloads and more reliable connectivity for work, education and entertainment.

Customers can check eligibility and apply through the Telecom Fiji website, contact the company by phone, visit retail outlets or use online chat services.
