Authorities are intensifying investigations into messages circulating on social media that allegedly link police officers to a local drug trafficking network.
The focus is now on tracing the origin of the messages and verifying their authenticity.
Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu provided the update, explaining that the complainant in the case has so far declined to reveal sources.

Despite this, investigators are determined to identify the individual who sent the messages, which could provide crucial evidence.
Phase one of the investigation has been completed, but authorities have yet to confirm any connection between the circulated screenshots and the officers named.
Investigators are now reviewing the financial backgrounds of the implicated officers and examining both existing and deleted Viber messages.
To assist in the investigation, a senior police detective recently travelled to Australia to record a statement from the person who uploaded the screenshots online.
“The information on social media cannot stand in a court of law,” Mr Tudravu said, emphasising that the investigation is evidence-based and aimed at uncovering the truth.
