Sole fintech’s five-year plan to repay a travel agency’s $2 million outstanding debt to Fiji Airways for a chartered flight last year is on track.

Sole fintech’s founder Semi Tukana and a team of trustees are dedicated to assisting Pacific Voyager Travel Agency to repay the national airline for the charter flight to Tel Aviv, Israel, in October last year.

Mr Tukana said it was to help Pacific Voyager Director of Marketing and Product Development, Michael Mausio, and his business.

Mr Tukana adds the initiative aims to foster and continue the agreement with the national airline on charter flights to Israel.

“We will do it privately within the people that went to Israel and even those who went in the past pilgrims and future pilgrims,” he said.

“There has been huge support within our private group to assist in clearing the outstanding debt. The plan is for five years, and we must help Pacific Voyager clear the outstanding debt.”

He said the details were with Pacific Voyager Travel Agency.

“We are outsiders trying to help. The support has been good, and it has gained a lot of interest with a lot of events coming up as well,” Mr Tukana said.

Fiji Airways managing director and chief executive officer Andre Viljoen said the Pacific Voyager had a plan put in place to clear its outstanding debt.

“They have made their first payment,” he said.

“This was a commercial decision, and they were given terms and they have given their payment as they have a payment plan.”

Attempts to get a comment from Mr Mausio were unsuccessful.
