More victims could emerge as investigations continue into allegations of human and sex trafficking, with inquiries now indicating the alleged involvement of two police officers in the Western Division.
The latest development was confirmed by Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu.
Initially, three young women were placed under the protection of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) at Blackrock in Nadi.

The women, aged 18, 19 and 20, were moved to a safe house on Monday as investigations continued into the alleged trafficking offences and the alleged involvement of two police officers in the Western Division.
Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu said the investigation had so far identified three victims, but that number could change as inquiries progressed.
“For the initial investigation, those were the ones that came up, but as the investigation unfolds, we might have others. I am only reporting what has come out of the investigation,” he said.
“There might be news somewhere else, but I only report things that come out of the investigation.”
Mr Tudravu said the initial investigation had been completed and the case file had been submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
He said the investigation into the alleged involvement of the police officers was continuing.
“In regard to all the allegations against the police, I am happy for these things to come up now. I again want to reassure members of the public that any reports against police officers will be investigated. That’s my reassurance,” he said.
Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection Sashi Kiran declined to comment on the matter, although she confirmed last week that her ministry was aware of the case.
