Vakarise custody death file to be sent to DPP soon
Police say investigators are completing interviews before forwarding the file to the DPP for legal advice.

The investigation into the death of Jone Vakarise in military custody is progressing well, with the case file expected to be forwarded soon to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for legal advice.
Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu confirmed yesterday that investigators were completing interviews with those involved before finalising the file.
"I can state that people need to trust the process that we are following. Investigation has been done," he said.

"The interviewing is currently being undertaken, so it will be finalised soon."
Mr Tudravu said the public would be informed of the outcome once the investigation had been completed.
