Authorities have confirmed that no injuries had been reported at the time of reporting, and investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) took the opportunity to remind all road users to drive responsibly, particularly during wet weather and the New Year festive season.
LTA chief executive officer Irimaia Rokosawa said that distractions, speeding, and drink-driving remain among the leading causes of road accidents.
He also warned against dangerous celebratory practices, such as throwing water at moving vehicles, which can have serious or even fatal consequences.
“Road safety is everyone’s responsibility,” Mr Rokosawa said.
“Drivers must slow down, remain focused, and ensure they are fit to drive, especially in challenging conditions or during peak traffic periods. Passengers also play a vital role by promoting safe driving behaviour.”
Motorists are urged to remain vigilant, adjust their speed according to road conditions, and avoid risky maneuvers while driving in the city.
Authorities continue to monitor the scene, and updates on the investigation will be provided as more information becomes available.
