Safe drinking

There has been a very significant change to the drinking habits of younger people in the nightclubs of Suva and Nadi.

Where once they were ordering jugs of beer or rum and cola they have now switched to single serve bottles, which they drink from and hang onto, not leaving their bottle to sit on the bar

This change is in response to the large increase in drink spiking that is happening in the club scene.

At least they are sure the drink is clear from a sealed container and it is difficult for anyone to spike the bottle through the small neck.

Tuilaepa’s way

Yes, we’re not the only Pacific Island country being attacked by cowardly long distance so-called keyboard warriors.

Samoa’s no-nonsense Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi is now taking fairly direct action over those who think they can defame with impunity.

He has got his Government’s top lawyer looking at ways of getting some of these Fake News merchants extradited back to Samoa to face criminal charges.
