Woman Vunivalu debate
A prominent lawyer with experience in constitutional law has told BTL that there is nothing wrong with a woman becoming the new Vunivalu of Bau.
It is consistent with provisions under Section 26 of the 2013 Constitution on the right to equality and freedom from discrimination.

Sniffing for limestone

The limestone is said to be the best in Fiji because it is exquisitely white.
Some of the most prominent landmarks in the world, including the Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, are made from limestone.
Interestingly, the Canadian city of Kingston in Ontario province has so many buildings made from this rock type, that the city itself has been nicknamed the Limestone City. Other than its direct use in construction, this rock is also used in production of Portland cement, which is a vital component in the field of construction. It is also used to build roads and railroads.
No booze party
Villagers in a village in Lau have reached a consensus there will be no booze in the Youth Christmas Party. Only yaqona (kava) is allowed.
