He has supplied documents from the iTaukei Lands and Fisheries Commission claiming that if the family tree is followed as recorded by the commission, he is the leading contender for the title.
He is the chief of the tokatoka (sub-clan) Vunivalu of the mataqali (clan) Tui Kaba. This the first time that it is publicly stated that there is a fifth sub-clan. Previously, only four were known – Mataiwelagi, Naisogolaca, Qaraniku-la and Muaidule .
Ratu Bola says he wants all the five sub-clans to sit together and discuss the Vunivalu title issue.
He says they need to follow what’s in the records of the commission.
The records, he claims, show his sub-clan, Vunivalu, is the leading sub-clan.
He says because of politics they have been relegated to the back.
“But the time has arrived to correct the past and settle this issue once and for all,” he says.
