This photo amused some in SODELPA yesterday. They were asking why fashion leader Lynda Tabuya did not wear Kiwi fashion because they were in New Zealand.
All the women members of Parliament were attending meetings there. She was dressed like others in the traditional Fijian wear.
Related stories
She was criticised when she did not dress like that during the ceremonial opening of Parliament last year. Ms Tabuya is definitely setting the trend.
Ray of “sunshine”
Among the concerns about the anti-social behaviour in some of our urban centres, comes this positive story from a visitor to the sugar city.
He was walking on the street when two young women approached him and said his backpack was open and items were about to fall out.
Secondly it could become easy target for pickpockets.
As he took a rest at Shirley Park, he told a friend: “My faith has been strengthened that there are many good people out there. This experience is a ray of sunshine and hope for me.”
Positive sign for economy
When locals occupy 80 per cent of rooms in a hotel, it is a reflection of our economic progress.
This hotel in Nadi is not the only one, BTL has been told. Locals are now taking their families for breaks and holidays in hotels.
As this market grows it adds strength to the tourism industry which usually relies on overseas tourists. What this means is that more locals have more money in their pockets now to stay and relax at hotels here.
It is a positive sign for our economy.
