The truth is ...

Some people are too blinded by their hatred of everything Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama has been able to achieve. Their political differences have turned into an obsession to have him toppled from the country’s top job at any cost.

They thought they would do it in the recent General Election. They failed.

Then they turned cheerleaders for Opposition leader Sitiveni  Rabuka, National Federation Party leader Biman Prasad, Unity Fiji and Jone Dakuvula who challenged the election processes. They failed again.

In desperation they have churned out fake news in the hope that it would magically achieve their evil goal. They claimed Mr Bainimarama suffered a stroke.

Wrong again.

It is true he was feeling under the weather after weeks of non-stop travel and work on both sides of the world.

If these people have forgotten he is a human being just like you and me. He is allowed to get sick. But his detractors think he has to be Superman. Sometimes BTL thinks he is by his work ethic. He has had a hectic year. COP23 and now straight into COP24. The Middle East tour to visit the troops then back in Suva for the military service. Then it was Suva court to face that frivolous election challenge. Even as PM he still had to respect the law and front up in court.

So, when it was time to turn up at the Fijian Navy Base in Walu Bay to officiate in the handover of the new boat from China his non-stop schedule had taken its toll.

So, it was also nature’s way of saying “you need a rest”

He excused himself from the naval event and had a deserved rest. Wife Mary was at Walu Bay and Inia Seruiratu represented the PM. That’s the truth.

Miss World No Show

Anyone watching the Miss World pageant broadcast on FBC TV would have noted that Fiji was not represented. Word is that there isn’t much commercial backing. What say Andhy?
