Villagers map moves

Seems sometimes there are consequences when you are too smart.

After the Ministry of the iTaukei Affairs had advised the villagers in a village in the Northern Division that they could not build their community hall on a piece of land they had agreed on, they have mapped out their next move.

Now they’re going to build the hall just a few metres away from that piece of land.

But they will first of all pull down a house built on the piece of land which was given to the owner of the house by the village chief who had passed away many, many years ago.

BTL has been told the new move is a reply to the house owner who called in the ministry to rule on the piece of land that was verbally given for the new community hall.

Changing times

No surprise to BTL followers to hear that Hank Arts is stepping out of the top job at the other paper after all his recent times in court and travel restrictions. It was hinted at in BTL last week.

There’s other changes there too with a lot of goings and comings in their newsroom. How do we know? Whispered approaches to some from here.

New drinking spot

BTL has found a new drinking spot in an open public space.

The new drinking spot is at the 3 miles Bus Stop just opposite the Post Office at 3 miles and about 300 metres away from the Nabua Police Station.

Yesterday BTL saw a carton of empty Fiji Gold, more than a dozen empty cans of Woodstock and the new drink Joske made by Pacific Beverages Fiji Limited.

BTL has been reliably informed this drinking spot is usually used when nightclubs closed.

Things we like

Charan Jeath Singh’s new Suva mall in Nabua.

Easy parking access on the supermarket side.

And some interesting outlets downstairs.
