The courts in Suva have to ensure incidents where evidence given by witnesses have been lost in translation.
At a rape trial in the High Court in Suva yesterday, it took more than 20 minutes to confirm that the reference being made by the witness was for the male genital.
Related stories
The witness who were giving evidence in the chosen vernacular language may have been confused by what was being put to her by the court translator.
Perhaps the courts could look at this as evidence could get lost in translation.
