To celebrate the Chinese New Year in Fiji in style next year, there will be four Fiji Airways chartered flights from China to Fiji.

Charter flights tend to be less expensive than commercial flights which means it also comes with rich packages of accommodation and entertainment, catering to the demands of Chinese tourists.
The joint initiative was announced in Beijing by the China Youth Travel Service (CYTS) in partnership with Tourism Fiji and Rosie Travel.
The theme for this initiative is “Experience the Dawn of 2019 Chinese New Year in Fiji”.
It also marked the great achievement over the years during which charter flights have been providing enormous convenience for Chinese tourists to Fiji during the Chinese Spring festivities.
China has become one of the most increasingly growing source of the foreign tourists to Fiji's tourist industry.
It means the Chinese tourists have confidence in us and it would be a boost to the economy. These chartered flights come at a time when the tourism industry is in its low season.
The four chartered flights will deliver approximately 1100 travellers to Fiji.
This is more than double the 545 tourists who were welcomed in the previous year’s charter flights from China.
Background
Tourism Fiji is working closely with Fiji Airways, inbound operators and Fijian tourism industry partners to give those four charter services full support.
The first two flights from Tianjin arrive on January 31 and depart on February 6, 2019 while the other two flights arrive on February 1 from Hangzhou and depart on February 7, 2019.
Both consumer and trade initiatives supported by Tourism Fiji have been scheduled to include marketing campaigns, public relations support, promotions, events and training.
