Letters: Thinking About the Country

We read in a Fiji Village report ( 30/5/24 ) that “Rabuka says as leaders, Members of Parliament, must consider the effect on the country of their vote held on May 24 in Parliament.”

So how many of these leaders had that thought in the front of their minds when they voted for the hefty pay rise and perks for themselves?

Never mind, there is an opportunity to rethink the ramifications of their vote in July.

Let us hope the leaders rethink their vote and do the right thing for the country and its people.

That is why they were elected in the first place.

They must not forget that.
