Real traitors
Dharmendra Kumar, Suva
It is indeed sad that Honourable Niko Nawaikula has been labelling the iTaukei members of the FijiFirst Party as traitors.

I believe the “real traitors” are those who lie to their own people for self-gain and exaltation.
According to Mr Nawaikula those who do not agree with him and SODELPA are traitors. There is a lot of talk of reconciliation yet, so much venom is being poured by the Opposition in Parliament.

Father Christmas
Floyd Robinson, Suva
It’s that time of the year again when Father Christmas makes his rounds with the famous bag full of gifts, especially for children. In this regard, one wonders where he may be located as of now and how close he may be to our homes. What new gifts are being dropped into the bag?
Even more, can he come to the Pacific dressed in some Pacific attire as the red and white clothing appears to reflect dressing from a developed country?
With all due respect, does he have to appear old or quite aged? Does he have to climb down the chimney? Maybe he should climb down a coconut tree or arrive on a canoe!
Whatever one’s views, this is certainly a period when parents are likely to be heavily occupied with the selection and purchase of gifts for their children.
All in all, looking forward to a time when Father Christmas will introduce his partner, Mother Christmas.
World AIDS Day
Neelz Singh, Lami
First recognised in 1988, World AIDS Day falls on December 1 each year. This year marks the 30th anniversary of World AIDS Day.
The annual observance highlights world- wide efforts to combat HIV/AIDS. World AIDS Day is also an occasion to show support for those living with HIV and to remember those who have died from the infection.
AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is a pandemic disease caused due to the infection of Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV). The day is celebrated by the government organisations, NGOs, civil society and other health officials by organising the speeches or forums discussion related to the AIDS. Here’s how you can become an action hero:
Step 1: Put on your favourite red clothing item or wear a red ribbon to showcase your support!
Step 2: Make a sign or write a caption about why you’re wearing red for AIDS Awareness!
World AIDS Day is dedicated to spreading awareness of the AIDS pandemic spread by the spread of HIV infection, and to mourn for those who have died of the disease.
Dubai Sevens
Savenaca Vakaliwaliwa, Suva
Here we go again!
Another season of 7s rugby – in Dubai and Cape Town – kicks off the first leg of the 2018/19 HSBC Sevens World Series.
For us Fijian 7s fans, we are all looking forward to a Dubai victory, which will set the plan in motion for the ultimate goal of winning the 2018/19 Series.
I believe our men are ready to bring home the Dubai title after Fiji won the Oceania Sevens Tournament at home and the Flying Fijians winning against France.
Win or lose, we wish our Fijian 7s team all the best in the Dubai 7s. We all hope our men will reach the final and, if possible, win the first tournament of the series.
Go Fiji, go.
