Consistent politicians

I wholeheartedly agree with ET Smith who wrote about the need for FijiFirst to pick the right candidates for 2018, espe­cially ones who follow the philosophy of the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and the Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

If we look at Fiji's history, there has hardly been any politician who has re­mained steadfast and consistent in their philosophy. We have found that consist­ency with the PM and A-G. Now we need a solid team of performers to continue flying the FijiFirst flag.

Cane figures truth

Mohammed Rafiq has said it right. Com­ing from him, his analysis of the current ploy to sway cane farmers by Opposition members especially by NFP with their promise of $100 per tonne for cane car­ries, a lot of weight and is spot on.

We need Fijians to be able to look beyond the dollar figures that seem to be plucked out of thin air.

I commend Mr Rafiq for taking out his time to write a detailed and thorough letter telling us the ground reality. Also, if the cane farmers are already earn­ing $100 or more per tonne, they already know what is right for them.

Palau and grog?

My sister from Ba called saying an Op­position Party was going to give out $200 food vouchers. I told her to tread carefully.

People turned out in numbers only to be given palau and grog. Must be elections time when palau is in abundance. Yaqona farmers must be laughing to the banks

SODELPA Woes

The woes concerning SODELPA Party is now coming from the same camp i.e. the Opposition.

Why complain about each other when you don't vacate public office when sign­ing nomination for Parliament?

A grave violation of section 57(1) of the constitution. Someone help!

Rabuka's Past $2billion Mess

This revelation (Sitiveni Rabuka’s past $2bn mess) by our Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama is good that it is in public that we Fijians including all those in the SODELPA party and Mr Rabuka's sup­porters may know the truth which also includes other past governments’ mess.

This is a massive amount to be put to waste by our government in paying off this humongous dirt which could have been put to better use for the development of our nation in the areas of Public Utili­ties specifically in Roads, Water, Sewer­age and Waterways including the Health sector.

I would like to dare Mr Rabuka defend and question our Prime Minister on the legitimacy with breakdowns of his claims so Fijians may know the truth in it.

It will certainly be a day of shame for these past leaders including SDL’s Laise­nia Qarase and the FLP’s Mahendra Chaudhry government.

Unfortunately for Fijians, every new government that comes in to govern will have to pay for the massive mismanage­ment of public funds by the past gov­ernments, but fortunately we have this prudent and determined FijiFirst party government with the Political Will to cor­rect the anomalies of the past and move forward in an inclusive manner in creat­ing a dynamic, vibrant and a modern Fiji for all who call this place home including living behind a better Fiji for our future Fijian generation.

What does Niko Nawaikula, Semesa Karavaki, Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu and Ro Teimumu Kepa have to say to the alle­gations by the FijiFirst party leader?

I would assume it will be sensible of the NFP leader Biman Prasad to be the first to condemn their opposition brothers SO­DELPA, SDL and FLP leader.

Vet hospital

I was delighted to read an article on the Fiji National University's website titled: ‘First Vet Hospital for the Pacific Takes Shape’.

Someone once said that 'the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step’.

Thus, I would like to congratulate the Fiji National University (FNU) in taking the first phase for endorsing the contract of its Veterinary Hospital construction.

This project will be the first of its kind for Fiji and the Pacific as a whole.

This great initiative by FNU will ad­dress the shortage of vets for the Pacific especially in Fiji which has been a chron­ic problem for many years.

Furthermore, I am excited to witness the first batch of Vets who would be grad­uating in the near future.

All in all, Fiji's livestock industry will be blessed by these trained and dedicated future veterinary physicians.

Vinaka vakalevu (thank you) once again to FNU for the excellent work. Keep it up!

Would they do the same?

I am so happy this Government is help­ing replace household appliances and furniture that people lost.

I would just like to know that if in case another party besides FijiFirst wins the 2018 general election would they also help in replacing our damaged goods and houses because of the Climate Change ef­fects?
