Nature reacts
Hassan Ali, Lautoka
Are we aware that nature reacts to individual actions both positive and negative?
Therefore, it is always safe to avoid negative actions for our own personal welfare, to save us from nature's equal reaction. We need to think right, act right, do right and feel right. By right I mean positive.
If you think it is difficult to think positive, then just resort to the technologies of consciousness. You probably know what I mean.
Discipline
Amenatave Yaconisau, Delainavesi
It seems there is a total lack of discipline resulting in a lack of unity if SODELPA continues with the internal bickering it's known for.
The stirrings started with the candidacy of Lynda Tabuya and continued with the Ro Dona's saga.
It seriously limits the power of the Opposition it seems when such a traditional representative is disregarded.
A decline of unity is apparent.
Electricity deposit
Narayan Reddy, Lautoka
Can the Fiji Electricity Authority make known the amount of money it is holding as a security deposit and the interest earned from it?
I am being told that FEA is required by law to make it public because it's consumers’ money held in trust.
Anything that is held in trust generates interest and who benefits from that interest?
Can the Consumer Council of Fiji please look into this?
The findings will be interesting because aside from FEA, most contractual security deposits are held in trust.
Consumer Council can you please update us regarding the interest generated from security deposits?
Politics or vanua
Samu Silatolu, Nakasi
The 2018 General Election is looming on the horizon. Few candidates who will be contesting are "Heads of Vanua".
The governing of a nation is totally different from vanua administration.
A "politician" is a job status and the "vanua head" is an inheritance. One changes every four years whereas the other dies with it.
This is a choice that has to be carefully and thoroughly understood.
The two would not, cannot and will not integrate due to their different nature.
One cannot serve two masters. Either you will love one and hate the other or will be loyal to one and despise the other.
Riddhi Damodar
Simon Hazelman, Savusavu
Lady Riddhi, there are many others who would love for you to use their name! You sure look like a very strong independent woman.
Your intentions to get into politics and serve the people says a lot about the person you are.
I wish you the very best in your political career.
Tar sealed road
Joji O. Toronibau, Tunuloa, Cakaudrove
A month back, I witnessed a charismatic senior executive from the Fiji Roads Authority commenting on the Hibiscus Highway tar sealed stretch.
He stated that the reason the tar sealed road ends at Kasavu and not stretched further on to Natuvu and as far as the Napuka end, was because the volume of vehicles was low.
Perhaps true in their one-day evaluation and scoping studies, but talk about the frequency of utilisation 24/7 is another chronicle.
Visiting health three centres of Tukavesi, Natewa and Bagasau is the norm of the day, while family gatherings, trading and distribution of goods and services from towns and cities is the call of the day.
There are three boats steaming across Taveuni everyday inclusive of its land transport vehicles and more buses on direct route to and from Labasa and so on. There are Vishnu buses running daily.
We want the same treatment as enjoyed by every Fijian.
