Letters To The Editor: Taveuni Hydro Power

Two hydro projects will be done on the is­land of Taveuni by a company named Hydro Developments Private Ltd.

What concerns me is the statement by the managing director, Dr Philip, that these two-world class mini hydro project sites are unknown to Energy Fiji Ltd and the Govern­ment.

Can Mr Hasmukh Patel and the Minister for Energy let us know if the statement made by Dr Phillip is true?

Meanwhile, can the Wainiqeu Hydro Sta­tion be upgraded to one megawatt from the present 400 kilowatts?
