Letters: Tyranny Ruled

Epeli Rabua couldn't have put it more succinctly when he said "fear ruled Fiji" during the 16-year reign in power (2006-2022) of Voreqe Bainimarama and Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum (FS 17/ 3/ 24).

Epeli Rabua couldn't have put it more succinctly when he said "fear ruled Fiji" during the 16-year reign in power (2006-2022) of Voreqe Bainimarama and Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum (FS 17/ 3/ 24).

I can't, for the life of me, fathom how someone described that rule as "progressive" on social media.

I hold no brief for the Rabuka Coalition Government. There are many legitimate questions regarding its delivery of the good governance it had promised the people of Fiji.

But I agree 100 per cent with Epeli that we must never again return to the rule of fear we endured under the two men "democracy" of Bainimarama and Sayed-Khaiyum.

Never again.
