During this Lenten season of reflection, let's give up being cruel to animals, who are, the other - quiet partners of our daily existence and sustenance.
Showing kindness and compassion to animals in honour of Lent is the perfect way to honour God's creation.
Giving up grog, alcohol, etc. while still being cruel to a living kind is hypocrisy.
