Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka will not be part of the Pacific leaders retreat to Munda, Western Province, in the Solomon Islands, tomorrow.

Mr Rabuka will leave tomorrow, and his seat in the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders Meeting (PIFLM) will be taken over by Fiji’s Minister for Public Works and Transport, Ro Filipe Tuisawau, who arrived in Honiara today.

Prime Minister Rabuka has indicated that he needs to attend to matters in Fiji before heading to Israel to open Fiji’s embassy in Jerusalem next week Wednesday.

Mr Rabuka held several bilateral meetings on the margins of the PIFLM to foster existing ties Fiji shares with regional countries.

He met his New Zealand counterpart, Christopher Luxon, Australian Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, and Vanuatu Prime Minister, Jotham Napat.

Earlier this week, he held talks with the Marshall Islands President, Hilde Heine, and Solomon Islands Prime Minister, Jeremiah Manele.

The PIFLM concludes on Friday with the release of the 54th communique outlining the outcome of the week-long meeting.
