President Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu will deliver his address at the Opening of Parliament this morning, marking the start of the fourth and final session before elections.

The parliamentary sitting, scheduled for 10am, will be the last session of the current term.

Speaker Filimone Jitoko chaired a Business Committee meeting last Thursday to finalise the agenda.

The opening ceremony will include prayers and communications from the Chair before the President's address.

Parliament was prorogued from December 8, 2025, reopening today after more than two months.

MPs will respond to the President's address in subsequent sitting days this week.

The session comes as the Coalition Government prepares to table constitutional and electoral amendment bills requiring a two-thirds parliamentary majority and national referendum.
