Residents in Ba have been urged to exercise extreme caution as rising floodwaters begin entering Ba Town this afternoon.
Authorities have issued an urgent advisory warning members of the public to avoid all flooded areas and to act immediately to protect themselves and their property.
In a Government statement, authorities say the situation remains fluid, with water levels continuing to rise due to persistent rainfall in the area.

Emergency teams have cautioned that attempting to walk or drive through floodwaters poses a serious risk, as strong currents and hidden hazards can lead to life‑threatening situations.
Residents are advised to move vehicles, livestock, and essential belongings to higher ground as a precaution.

Communities in low‑lying and flood‑prone zones are being told to remain on standby in case an evacuation order is issued.
Officials have also called on the public to stay alert and closely monitor updates from emergency services.

The Fiji National Disaster Risk Management Office (NDRMO) has urged members of the public to remain on high alert as a flash flood warning remains in force for the whole of Viti Levu and Vanua Levu.
The public is urged to stay informed through official weather updates and to avoid crossing flooded roads, crossings or walkways, as water levels can rise rapidly and pose life‑threatening risks.
"Parents and guardians are reminded to closely supervise children and keep them away from drains, rivers and flooded areas. Those living in flood‑prone or low‑lying communities should move belongings to higher ground, prepare essential items in case evacuation becomes necessary, and ensure that their emergency kits are ready and accessible," Government said in a statement.
