Naitasiri Rugby Union President Ratu Peceli Rinakama told SUNsports yesterday that they have to do everything in their power to retain the INKK Farebrother Sullivan trophy.

“We have to make sure that the Cup is kept on the southern side of Viti levu,” Ratu Peceli said.

“We are so thankful to the God Almighty for the preparation done last time as we were able to wrestle to Cup from Lautoka.”

Rinakama said their pastor led the spiritual alliance with the team at camp.

“It was also the blessing from the Naitasiri chief, Turaga na Qaranivalu Ratu Inoke Takiveikata that enabled us win the match against Lautoka last week,” he said.

“The game with Lautoka was a thriller as the result of the game was not decided until the last minute.”

Rinakama said they have huge respect towards the Nadroga team.

“Nadroga Stallions is a long-time champion of Fiji rugby and for us to dethrone them back in 1998 at Lawaqa Park was a huge achievement,” he said.

“We want to also play a thrilling match against our rivals from the (west) Nadroga.”

“More than 70 per cent of our players in camp are members of the Skipper Cup teams here in Fiji.”
