Former Rewa defender Peniame Drova will return to his hometown club Navua for the BiC Fiji FACT tournament at Subrail Park, Labasa next week.
Drova recalled the moment that Navua won the Fiji FACT title in 2003 when he was a 13-year-old.
“It was a special moment for the whole town,” he told Fiji FA Media.
“As a young boy, seeing Navua win Fiji FACT made me dream about playing at that level one day.”
He rose through the ranks during his time with the Fiji under 17 and 20 teams.
Drova joined the Delta Tigers in 2010 and has helped the club win eight domestic titles.
He made a name for himself at district level for the Rewa football team as a strong defender.
The return of Drova will provide an added boost to the team’s Fiji FACT campaign as head coach Rodicks Singh sets a goal to perform well in their pool games.
In pool A, Navua is grouped alongside host Labasa, Rewa and Suva.
Navua failed to qualify for the semi-finals in the tournament last year after 1 –1 draws against Lautoka and Rewa while eventually losing to Ba 1 – 0.
The team finished as runners-up in 2024 after their 1 - 0 loss to Lautoka in the final at Subrail Park.
The Fiji FACT tournament will kick off on June 19.
