The opening leg of the Pillay Garment CvC (Champions versus Champions) between Rewa and Labasa is scheduled to be played at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori on February 8.

This was confirmed by Fiji FA (Fiji Football Association) chief executive officer Mohammed Yusuf during the official launch at their headquarters in Vatuwaqa in Suva yesterday.

“We are getting confirmation from Labasa Town Council whether Subrail Park will be football ready on February 14,” he said.

“If Subrail Park is not ready then we’ll try our best to play Labasa vs Rewa at the HFC Bank stadium on February 5.”

Yusuf indicated that the final confirmations will be made on Friday.

President Rajesh Patel said this year will mark the 25th edition of the CvC series.

“It is something over the years that has grown stronger, bigger and better,” he said.

“The competition, people, the fans will look forward to who is the real champion that for the year or season.”

Patel acknowledged the sponsors, Pillay Garments for 25 years of partnership.
