It was a proud moment for Extra Bula FC midfielder Nabil Begg as he reflected on scoring a goal against Vanuatu United during their OFC Pro League debut.

Both teams played to a 2–2 draw at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand, last Saturday.

“I thank the Almighty for giving us this opportunity to be here and represent our nation,” Begg said.

“I was proud and honoured to represent Fiji’s first professional football team.”

The 21-year-old Sorokoba, Ba, native said his goal was possible through the effort of his team-mates.

“I was fortunate to be in the right place and moment but hats off to Kaile Auvray for the wonderful cross,” he said.

Begg acknowledged the fans for their support.

“Please keep supporting us and we hope to give you good results,” he said.
