Anish Khem is the toast of the Extra Supermarket Labasa football team as they beat River Tubing Fiji/Classic Rentals and Tours Navua side 1-0 in this afternoon’s Extra Battle of the Giants semi-final.
Both teams were tied 0-0 at full-time and had to play 30 minutes of extra time. At the end of the 15-minute spell, they were still scoreless.
In the 111th minute from a free-kick, Khem neatly slammed the ball past the Navua defenders to the back of the net.
In the final seven minutes, the Babs Khan- coached Navua side threw everything into the game and got a free-kick. Defender Kolinio Sivoki’s attempt hit the Labasa defenders for a corner-kick and lost their chance of scoring the equaliser.
