The Navua football team are facing financial constraints as they countdown to the BiC Fiji FACT tournament in Labasa next week.

Head coach Rodeck Singh said every team needs money to prepare well for a big tournament.

Navua is grouped in Pool A with Rewa, Suva and hosts Labasa.

“A major challenge is finding sponsors; every association needs sponsors and we are finding it hard to secure a major sponsorship,” he said.

He has urged their fans and supporters to back their team.

“I would like to encouraged all the fans of Navua out there - the team needs your financial support before we head to the North.

“Our preparations have been in progress and the boys are ready for next week,” Singh said.

The last time Navua won a Fiji FACT was in 2009 and they are aiming to win in the Lions territory.

“Our main goal is to qualify for semifinals and then go the full distance,” he said.

“We are working on our finishing, as we missed goals in our league matches from the recent competitions which cost us points,” he said.

Navua have won three Fiji FACT titles - 2003, 2008 and 2009 and two runners-up finish where they lost to Ba and Lautoka in 2010 and 2024, respectively.
