The new look for the Fiji football men’s and women’s team will boost the players to lift their performance on the field in 2026.
This was the gist of national women’s football veteran centre back Naomi Waqanidrola.
“This is Custom Athletics (CA), and this is a new look for our national team,” Waqanidrola told SUNSports.
“We would like to thank CA Director Riley Evans as they’ve come on board to assist us with a fresh new look for the Fiji national team.”
Waqanidrola added that players performed well wearing comfortable uniforms.
“We started wearing this uniform at the beginning of the year,” she said.
“I’ve heard and I’ve seen a lot of players enjoying playing with this new Custom Athletics uniform.”
Waqanidrola indicated that their new kit has inspired the players to perform well on the field.
She said the next tournament is the FIFA Women’s 2027 World Cup Oceania qualifiers.
“I think it’s in March next year and that’s something we’re gearing up for.”
Fiji and Solomon Islands will host the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2027 Oceania Qualifiers Round two on February 24 and March 7.
“For the senior women’s team, this is something we’ve been trying to achieve in the last couple of years,” Waqanidrola said.
“The Fiji under 20 women’s team opened doors for us qualifying for the World Cup and I think this is our time with our new uniform.”
Waqanidrola is hopeful that they will achieve their goal next year.
“I just want to thank Jack’s of Fiji as a lot of our supporters, friends and family always want to support us with apparel,” she said.
“Having a shop that can sell our apparels would be a great boost for us to see our family’s and our friends with the same uniform we wear on the field.”
