The country’s football fraternity mourns the death of former Fiji Football Association vice-president and Lautoka Football Association president Abdul Kadar.
Fiji FA president Rajesh Patel told Fiji FA Media that Kadar was a respected football administrator whose leadership, humility, and passion for the game made a lasting impact on Lautoka FC and the national team.
Under his guidance, Lautoka FC achieved remarkable success, winning numerous tournaments and securing the National League crown in 2018.
Kadar also served as Fiji FA vice-president for a short term, where his dedication and vision for the development of football were widely recognised and appreciated.
Kadar passed away yesterday after being admitted to the Lautoka Hospital for a week, following a heart attack, at the age of 53.
Patel paid tribute to Kadar’s lifelong devotion to football and the positive influence he had on players, officials, and fans alike.
“Mr Kadar was a true football leader whose contribution to the growth of Lautoka FC and Fiji Football will always be remembered.
“He was not only a passionate administrator but also a humble, kind-hearted gentleman who inspired everyone around him.
“His passion, leadership, and commitment have left a lasting legacy in our football community,” said Patel.
