Fiji golf club dominates

Fiji Golf Club (FGC) dominated the 3rd Golf Fiji Teams Championship 2026 at Nadi Airport Golf Club on Sunday, winning the A-grade and B-grade titles.

The Suva-based side’s A-grade team of Zavir Khan, Greg Browne, Arvind Sharma and Mohd Rizwan carded 241 to edge Ba Golf Club by one stroke. Ba finished second on 242.

FGC also claimed the B-grade title through Opetaia Ravai, Paul Bennion, Mavoa Eroni and Sikipio Fihaki, ahead of host Nadi Golf Club.

The club made its mark in the ladies/junior's division, with Lusi Leqa, Kamini Singh and Bulou Gavidi who made her debut for FGC, helping secure the title.

Golf Fiji tournament director Rohit Chandra said the championship was a success.

“We had 84 players participating. Clubs represented were Ba, Lautoka, Nadi, Novotel, Natadola, Suva and Labasa,” Chandra said.

He thanked Nadi Airport Golf Club executives and members for hosting the event.

“Special thanks to Ricky and Joeli, as well as their ground staff, for the excellent course conditions. Lunch and green fees for each participant were catered for by Golf Fiji. Individual clubs also received a travelling allowance,” he said.

Chandra said junior golfers were presented with individual trophies, crediting professional golfer and trainer Inoke Bolakoro for guiding them.

The next Golf Fiji event is the Fiji Amateur Championship on March 21–22 at Denarau Golf Club. The tournament is a World Ranking event.
