Mali, Tuivuna win Denarau Open

Sigatoka businessman Nitulesh Mali was crowned the new amateur winner of the Cardos Steakhouse and Cocktail Bar-sponsored Denarau Open Pro -Am Golf tournament at the Denarau Golf Club last Saturday.
Mali shot one-over-par 73 in the 18-hole stroke event, which attracted 92 players, including about 20 from overseas.
“It was a wonderful day of competition,” he said.

Cardos Steakhouse and Cocktail Bar founder Richard “Cardos” Slatter said the sponsorship for next year’s event would increase to $15,000.
This year, $8000 was provided for the amateur and professional divisions.
In the professional division, Tomasi Tuivuna claimed the title with a four-under-par 68.
Ba lawyer Vikrant Chandra finished two shots behind on 70, while Zoheer Ahmed carded a one-under-par 71.
The Fiji PGA event is also supported by Swire Shipping, Zens Medical, and Blueridge Holdings Pte Limited.
The Denarau Golf Club will host the GM Motors-sponsored Fiji Classics 2026 this weekend, with the tournament starting on Thursday and ending on Saturday.
