Defending champion Roneel Prakash will be out to retain his crown at the Fiji Professional Golf Association Champion-ship 2026 at the Denarau Golf and Racquet Club tomorrow.

Fiji PGA treasurer Amitesh Chandra said a strong field of elite golfers will feature, including professionals Tomasi Tuivuna and Zoheer Ahmed. Chandra said entries filled quickly, with only 100 spots available.

“Out of that, 60 had been taken as of Friday last week,” he said.

The professional golfers will compete for $10,000 in prize money, with the winner set to collect $2000.

Amateur men and women will play for more than $3000 in prizes, including nearest-the-pin and long drive awards.

Professionals will contest 36 holes, while amateurs will play 18 holes. The professionals begin round one today.

Chandra said the course is in top condition after extensive preparation by his team. Among the amateur field are Asish Chand, Jerad Sharma, Shakeel Pillay and Maika Kasami to name a few.

Registration starts at 8.30am with a 9.30am shotgun start.
