Prakash wins Vanua Levu Pro-Am

Fiji’s number one pro golfer Roneel Prakash shot one-under-par 71 to win the A Hussain Group Vanua Levu Pro-Am at Denarau Golf Course on Saturday.

Prakash said the professionals brought their best to the course, making it a remarkable event.

“Vanua Levu Open Pro-Am in the bag. Smiling in the face of defeat and rising when it matters is key,” Prakash said.

“Trust the simple process. Unleashed golf. Keep it real.”

Ba lawyer Vikrant Chandra finished tied for second with Ricky after both carded two-over par 74.

Tomasi Tuivuna and Zoheer Ahmed settled for third place on five-over par 75.

Ba schoolteacher Asish Chand won the overall gross, while Jin Jin claimed the overall net title with 63.

Ladies’ number one Raina Kumar carded 77 to win the overall gross, and Alumeci Bolakoro took the overall net with 68.

A Hussain Group director Asif Hussein said the event was a great way to give back to the community.

He said the company would continue to support the golfing community.
