Nadi’s Prince Charles Park is expected to have a major facelift in the next year.
This is after the Nadi Town Council recently put out a tender for Public Private Partnership (PPP) - redevelopment and operation of Prince Charles Park.
Nadi Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Lawrence Kumar acknowledged that the council is in the right direction but should have resorted to this long time ago.
“Time and time we are reminded that Nadi does lack international sporting standard infrastructure to host international games such as Drua franchise home games,” Kumar said.
“We have to understand that the same very park, saw top teams such as the Socceroos and other English Premier League teams, played with local district teams too.”
He said the Jet Set town has no issues of accommodation for spectators who wishes to travel
“To have an upgraded park will bring more revenue for the council and the township as a whole.”
NTC chief executive officer Muni Gopal Reddy said that the council is formally informing all reputable companies and vendors that the tender was extended and will now close on January 2, 2026.
“Interested companies and vendors are advised to use Terms of Reference (ToR) outlining the scope of works,” he said.
