Lelean Memorial School (LMS) survived a dramatic final-minute penalty attempt to edge Navatu Secondary School 15-14 and claim the Vodafone Super Deans Under-19 title.

Navatu had an opportunity to snatch victory in the final minute after being awarded a penalty, but the attempt was unsuccessful, allowing Lelean to hold on to their one-point lead until the final whistle.

Navatu had started strongly, taking an early 7-0 lead before Lelean responded with a penalty to narrow the deficit to 7-3.

A few minutes later, LMS crossed for a try to move ahead 8-7.

Navatu regained the lead through a try from their centre in the 31st minute and went into halftime ahead 14-8.

Lelean responded early in the second half with a converted try to take a 15-14 lead.

From there, LMS defended their slender advantage as Navatu pushed for a way back into the contest.
