The Suva Volleyball Association stepped up its preparations for the Vanua Challenge following a successful campaign at the recent Vulaca Championship.
The Suva Blues men’s and women’s teams both won their respective titles after a tough and competitive tournament. Teams from across the country featured in the championship, testing the discipline, teamwork, and resilience of all players.
The results provided momentum for Suva as it turned its attention to the Vanua Challenge, from March 6-7 in Suva.

Following the tournament, both teams were given a one-week recovery break. The break allowed players to rest and recover before returning to structured training.
Lagilagi said the decision reflected its focus on athlete welfare, injury prevention, and long-term
performance.
Training later resumed with an emphasis on skill development, teamwork, and physical conditioning.
The SVA continues to prioritise a safe and inclusive sporting environment.
SVA vice-president Sereima Lagilagi said discipline and respect remained central to the association’s values.
“Discipline and respect are non-negotiable for us, and our athletes are expected to uphold these val-ues both on and off the court,” Lagilagi said.
She said these standards helped shape performance, character, and accountability among players.
Lagilagi also acknowledged the role of families, supporters, and partners.
“The support from families and supporters continues to motivate our athletes as they proudly represent Suva,” she said.
Lagilagi said the teams remained focused on delivering performances that reflected commitment, resilience, and the spirit of volleyball.
