Auckland specialists to provide free care in Lautoka

Overseas medical specialists in stroke care, cancer, digestive system disorders and hepatology will offer free consultations and procedures at the Sri Sathya Sai Specialist Centre in Viseisei Village, Lautoka.

Senior Auckland-based gastroenterologist Dr Dinesh Lal will provide gastroenterology and hepatology consultations, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy services, for patients with acute gastroenterology symptoms and for eligible bowel and
gastric cancer screening.

The initiative is delivered by the Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation (Australia–New Zealand–Fiji) and aims to improve access to specialist healthcare services for communities in the Western Division and beyond.

The Sri Sathya Sai Specialist Centre, which was officially inaugurated by the Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services, Penioni Ravunawa, in November 2025, will host senior Auckland-based medical specialists who will provide services
free of charge and by appointment only.

February programme

Gastroenterology and hepatology clinics
February 12–13, 2026
Led by Dr Dinesh Lal (MBBS, FRACP), offering specialist consultations, gastroscopy and colonoscopy for acute symptoms, and bowel and gastric cancer screening for eligible patients

Stroke clinics
February 16–17, 2026
Led by Dr Ajay Kumar (MBBS, FRACP), focusing on stroke evaluation, prevention, optimisation of treatment, and assessment for multidisciplinary rehabilitation.

Bookings close on Tuesday, February 10 for the gastroenterology clinic and Friday, February 13 for the stroke clinic.
