Top Police Officer Fisi Nasario stood down amid drug probe

Acting Police Commissioner Aporosa Lutunauga has confirmed that Head of Serious Organized Crime and Intelligence Department (SOCID) Senior Superintendent of Police, Fisi Nasario, has been directed to take leave.

Mr Nasario is one of the officers alleged to be involved in alleged corrupt practices relating to illegal drug trade in the country.

The investigation centers on an incident alleged to have occurred sometime in 2024.

Police investigators are currently working to confirm the details surrounding the claim.

Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu stressed that the move was part of standard procedure to ensure transparency and integrity during the inquiry.

He assured the public that the investigation remains ongoing and will be conducted thoroughly.
