Acting Police Commissioner Juki Fong Chew has reiterated that any police officer found colluding with those involved in the illicit drug trade has no place in the force.

Mr Chew expressed gratitude for the support of Government, law enforcement partners, and the community, stating that the Fiji Police Force cannot combat the war on drugs alone.

“Investigation into the alleged tampering is ongoing, and I assure the public that the outcome, once completed, will be made known,” Mr Chew said.

“Incidents such as this, whether proven or alleged, erode public confidence. We are mindful of that, which is why we continuously discuss the consequences of officers’ actions on their careers, families, and the organisation.”

He said this challenge was not isolated to his leadership tenure, but had occurred in the past, with involved officers being dealt with accordingly.
