A flood warning remains in force across Fiji, with low-lying and flood-prone areas urged to stay alert as Tropical Disturbance TD03F has been upgraded to a tropical depression, bringing widespread heavy rain and strong northerly winds.
The Fiji Meteorological Service said the system continues to affect the country with persistent rainfall, increasing the risk of flash flooding in low-lying communities, small streams and areas downstream of major rivers.
As of midday Monday, TD03F was located over open waters to the northeast of Vanuatu and is moving slowly, with its associated trough of low pressure continuing to feed rainbands over Fiji.
