The Fiji National Disaster Risk Management Office (NDRMO) has issued a flash flood warning for the whole of Viti Levu, with a flash flood alert remaining in force for Vanua Levu.
In a public advisory issued today, the NDRMO urged members of the public to remain on high alert as heavy rain continues to affect parts of the country.
People are advised to stay updated through official weather bulletins and avoid crossing flooded roads, crossings and walkways. Water levels can rise rapidly and pose life-threatening risks.

Those living in low-lying and flood-prone communities are advised to move belongings to higher ground, prepare essential items in case evacuation becomes necessary and ensure emergency kits are ready and accessible.
The NDRMO says drivers should travel only when necessary and exercise extreme caution, especially at night when visibility is low. With continuous rain over the past few days and already saturated ground, there is also a risk of landslides in some areas.
Members of the public who need assistance to move to higher ground are advised to contact the Fiji Police Force or the National Fire Authority. Information on designated evacuation centres is available on the NDRMO website.
Communities are also encouraged to check on elderly persons, people living with disabilities and neighbours who may need assistance during this period.
The NDRMO will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as conditions evolve.
